Arts After Hours
Time & Location
About The Event
Thanks for signing up to attend Arts After Hours at the National Gallery of Art on Friday, November 8 at 6pm! The event is on the roof of the East Building on 4th St NW in Washington, DC. Event description from the National Gallery’s website: It’s time to fall back. Evenings at the Edge will mark the change in seasons with pop-up talks, art making, and performances. Learn how to paint with light, stargaze on the Gallery’s rooftop terrace, and light up the dance floor with tunes from the sensational DJ Neekola and electric cellist Benjamin Gates. Pop-up talks will explore how artists use light and shadow to enhance their work. Specialty fare and beverages include black-and-white cookies and a dark-and-stormy-inspired cocktail.
Registration for this event is free, but required, and will open on October 9 here: https://www.nga.gov/calendar/community-events/afterhours.html. Please register as soon as possible, as it may fill up. The event itself is free, and will have drinks and light food available for purchase. SIGNING UP TO ATTEND WITH OUR GROUP DOES NOT REGISTER YOU FOR THE EVENT ITSELF.
Parking is limited, so please arrive early to find a spot or garage if you’re planning to drive. The event is easily accessible by Metro; the closest stop is Archives–Navy Memorial–Penn Quarter on the Green and Yellow lines, but it is a short walk from L’Enfant Plaza (10 min – Orange/Silver/Blue) and Gallery Place (12 min – Red). We will meet in front of the 4th St Entrance to the East Building of the National Gallery around 5:45pm to enter the event together.
We hope that you can honor your RSVPs, so please update us if your schedule changes and you’ll no longer be able to attend. A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is requested, so we can offer your spot to someone on the waitlist. Please text me (Lauren) at (703)731-5877 if your plans change, or if you have trouble finding the group on the day of.
